When I come to his house, I am usually offered by these bottles of wine taken directly from the top best wine coolers so that the flavors and the colors of the wine remain at a wonderful condition.
After knowing him for a while, my interest for wine start to develop and is taken into a higher level that I have also started to collection bottles of wine as well.
When I start my own collection of wine, I have encountered a lot of troubles such as where to store my wine as well as how many bottles are enough to store to name just a few.
So in case you are also wondering about starting your own wine collection and want to have one now, you can read my article for some basic information about storing wine and some tips on storing them that I have picked up over the years.
First of all, let’s start by stating the reasons why you should start to collect various bottles of wine:
As I mention above, I always enjoy going to my friend’s house to try his collection of wine and when I first start my own collection, I want to share this passion of wine tasting with my friends as well. I want my guests when they come to my house have the best dining experience with good wine.
In addition, I stock up various types of wine such as red wine, white wine and sparkling wine so that everyone could be able to taste their favorites. Not to mention that different wines will go better with different types of meat.
Another reason why you should start collecting wine now is that the price of wine is pretty cheap at the moment, both super market wine and high quality wine.
Finally, most of the wine will age well and taste better over time so if you should start collecting wine as soon as possible. You will have wine of good quality pretty soon.
If I persuade you well enough, you might want to start collecting wine now. Here are some tips you should know about this hobby:
- Where To Store Your Wine?
The first thing you need to consider is where you will store your wine collection. Providing that you have a big house with spacious basement, it is the ideal place to store your wine. Everything seems to be perfect in a basement with the right temperature, the right light and the right level of humidity.
And when you live in an apartment of have limited space in your house, you can choose to store your wine in a wine cooler.
Keep in mind that storing your wine in a refrigerator is not a good idea as this place cannot maintain a constant degree of temperature when you open and close it multiple times a day.
Wine will age in a quicker shorter amount of time if it is stored in an area with high degree of temperature. Therefore, you should keep the wine at the ideal temperature of about 50 degree Fahrenheit. You will be able to store your wine for longer. It is worth mentioning that the right temperature of wine will make the wine contain most of its aromas and flavors over time.
The right humidity of the wine storing area is very important for the quality of the wine. When the areas around your collection of wine are too dry, it will shrink the corks of the bottle of wine, creating space for air to come inside the bottle.
And when the air can get through the bottle, it will cause negative impacts on the quality of wine, making it less delicious and lose its natural flavors.
That is the reason why you should store your wine collection in a wine cooler or a basement, not outside, where the level of humidity is high.
The last thing that you need to remember when you store your wine collection is that you need to keep all of the bottles in a dark place so the ultra light cannot get through these bottle and deteriorate your wine.
Wine collecting is so far one of my favorite activities. I would be able to buy, store and taste the best wine whenever I want. Moreover, I am able to invite some of my friends coming to my house to have a lot of good time wine tasting.
Although it requires both attention and good conditions to store wine, when you can keep a moderate level of humidity and constant preferred temperature, you would be able to store your wine for a long time and your wine would have the best taste and flavor against the test of time.
